I Am King Sean John is a distinct smell for a very distinct brand. Customers stick to the brand Sean John because it stands for how they wish to express themselves through their clothing. The cologne matches with the overall look of a Sean John design which is why it’s been popular to those who have been loyal towards the logo. Sean John is an adventurous manifestation which is why he has created this line for those who can relate to him in that sense. If you watch the Sean John video clip, it kind of speaks for the cologne and the smell that it depicts.

I Am King Sean John contains special ingredients including: Orange, Tangerine, Cranberry, Sandalwood, Moss, Cedar and Vetiver. It definitely speaks for who Mr. John is. The bottle has a unique look to it with a blue helm then fading into a transparent slogan at the bottom of the bottle. When you first smell this fragrance it’s going to appear about “citrusy” while incorporating a sweet scent as well. The twist in the ingredient is the cranberry and the bergamot tangerine together.
The cassis is the heart of the fragrance, creating it to be a very refreshing scent. There is a dry down feature which may not appeal to all cologne users but some prefer it. Some say that the look of the cologne is dull and not unique enough for the way that it was advertised by Sean John himself. Some may have bought the cologne because of the brand name and their like towards the “big picture” but the way that it dries up on the skin may turn many customers away from it. If the fragrance were a bit more unique and favorable in the diverse light then it may have been a bit more popular after it was distributed into the market.
Bottom line
This fragrance receives 3 out of 5 stars. Although some may find the cologne nose pleasing, in comparison to other designer colognes it has been belittled. The name is a bit pompous and the fragrance just doesn’t match up to it whatsoever. If you are a fan of Sean John, then you may purchase it out of loyalty, but if you have other colognes that you favor, I wouldn’t waste my money on this one.
